Fourteen ranks, one weekly cap, and what each rank unlocks
How ranks work
Two currencies
Honor buys gear and you can hold 25,000. Rank Points move you up the 14 ranks. Battlegrounds and PvP quests give both; world PvP kills give Honor only.
Everyone needs the same points
Unlike 2004, your rank does not depend on how much others play. Every rank has a fixed Rank Point total, and no rank decay has been announced.
A weekly cap
The highest rank anyone can reach rises each week of the season. Starting late is fine: the cap counts all points since the season began, so you can catch up.

Week 1: you can reach Rank 3 (Sergeant).

Legacy Points are account-wide and carry into later seasons. Numbers come from the beta client and may change.
21What ranks unlock for gear
Blue PvP sets need no rank: buy them with Honor and Marks from level 55. Your rank unlocks the seals that turn a blue piece epic: wrist and waist at Rank 8, feet at 9, hands at 10, legs and shoulders at 12, chest and head at 13. See the gear chapter in your class guide for your exact sets.
